Collecting the photos of a retirement party
A retirement party brings together today's colleagues, those from twenty years ago and the family. Everyone takes photos, nobody sends them. Here is how to gather them, collect everyone's kind words and hand the lot to the person who is leaving.
A QR code instead of a group chat
At work, party photos end up compressed in a team chat, and outside guests (partners, former colleagues) are in none of the groups. With Entourage, everyone scans a QR code: the page opens in the phone's browser, with no app and no account, and photos and videos land in one shared album, in their original quality.
Before the party: the album and the poster
- Create the album on the album creation page. Only the name is required: "Martine's farewell". The date triggers a reminder to print the poster two days before, and your email sends you the link to your host space.
- Print the A4 poster from your space, or download the QR code alone as a high-resolution PNG for your invitation or a welcome slide.
- Put the link in the invitation: some guests will send old photos of away days or office parties before the event.
The guide preparing your album before the event covers these steps in detail.
During the party: the slideshow and colleagues' words
Plug a computer into the room's screen and open the slideshow from your space. Every photo sent appears on its own within seconds. Pause it during the speeches; videos play without sound. The slideshow is included in every plan, the free one too.
With the Complete plan, two tools replace the card that used to go round the office:
- The message wall, switched on in the settings: a message of up to 140 characters, signed with a first name, scrolling in a banner at the bottom of the slideshow.
- The guestbook, open by default: everyone signs with their name and writes up to 2000 characters. Text only, for longer memories.
No links are accepted, and a doubtful message waits for your decision. An emergency button clears the banner on every screen. See the guides to the live slideshow and the guestbook.
After the party: giving the album
- The gallery link: open to guests by default, it can be viewed on any phone for the hosting period included in the plan.
- The HD archive (Complete plan): a zip of the approved originals and the wall messages, ready to copy onto a USB stick slipped into the gift. The guestbook is not in it: it is read on its own page.
- Export to Google Photos or Apple Photos (Essential and Complete plans).
The guide after the event covers each option.
Which plan to choose
- Discovery (€0): 20 visible media, 14 days of hosting included. For a small team drink.
- Essential (€19, one-off): unlimited media, export to Google Photos or Apple Photos.
- Complete (€79, one-off): guestbook, message wall, HD archive and one year of hosting. The plan closest to a book of memories.
Full refund as long as the album has not been used. All plans are on the pricing table; for farewells across a whole company, see the Pro plan.
Frequently asked questions
Can the album stay among colleagues?
Close the gallery in the settings: each guest then sees only their own uploads, and you see everything. The album is never indexed by search engines. See album privacy.
Can a colleague remove a photo?
Yes, from the thank-you page, as long as the album accepts uploads. You can also remove any media.
