Delivering the photos to your clients after the event
The event is over and the album holds the guests' photos and videos. Here is how to close, sort and hand everything over to your client, and what each way of delivering allows.
Close uploads, then sort
Guests often keep uploading the next day. If a date was entered, the album's address receives an email the day after, then three days later: that third day is a good cue to close "Uploads" in the settings. Guests then see "Uploads are over". Closing is reversible.
Before delivering, go through the album from the host space, where you see everything:
- remove blurry photos, duplicates or screenshots;
- empty the review console: an item still waiting appears neither in the gallery nor in the archive;
- check the videos, moderated on three frames only.
If the guest gallery is open, its link is enough for everyone to relive the evening. It does not replace handing over the files.
The HD archive, then your delivery tool
From the "Get your photos" screen, "Prepare the archive" builds a zip in the background, and an email lets you know when it is ready. It contains the approved originals and the wall messages (messages.html file), in parts of about 1 GB, with a resumable download. The links are valid for 7 days; you can prepare a new one afterwards.
For a photographer, this is the most flexible option: upload the content to your delivery tool, in a section apart from your edited images. Originals keep their metadata, GPS location included: keep this in mind if you republish them. See the guide to privacy.
Google Photos and Apple Photos
- Google Photos: the export goes to the Google account of the person signed in to the album owner's account, that is to yours. Entourage creates its own album there; share it afterwards from Google Photos. Once the export has started, photos that arrive later follow it on their own.
- Apple Photos: an iOS Shortcut installed once reads a link valid for 7 days and saves the originals to the Photos app. It runs from the album space, so your client can use it on their own iPhone.
Give your client the album space
When signed in, the album space shows a "Give your client access" block: a link to send by WhatsApp, through your device's share menu, by email, or to copy.
Your client sees no plan and no price there, only the features. They can prepare the HD archive and save the photos to Apple Photos. As the Google Photos export goes through your account, the screen tells them to ask you. The link also opens the settings: ask your client not to pass it around.
The guestbook and hosting time
The guestbook is not included in the archive. It stays readable on its page after closing: copy its content into a document attached to your delivery. See the guide to the guestbook.
Your albums stay hosted while the subscription runs. If it stops, they become Complete albums hosted for one year from the end, and printed QR codes keep working. See the guide to the Pro subscription. Advise your client to keep their own copy.
